Anti-Tiedown Controls – Nolatron’s anti-tiedown controls are used in conjunction with two start switches to require a machine operator to have both hands on the start switches in order to activate a machine cycle. The start switches must both be released and then activated simultaneously to start the machine.

3380 Series:

The 3380 series is designed for use with mechanical hand switches, or self-checking electronic hand sensors such as the Allen-Bradley Zero-Force Touch Buttons. This series is a direct replacement for the 3370 series.

Model 3380 – Can provide a Momentary output – the output remains energized only as long as both switches are activated, or a Maintained output – the output will remain energized until the Hold switch is opened.

Model 3380-C – Operates in the same way as the 3380, but has an additional normally closed contact.

Model 3380-T – Provides a Timed output – the output will remain energized for a total of .5 seconds, assuming the start switches remain closed.

Model 3381 – This control has an adjustable timed output – the output will remain energized for a set period of time which is adjustable from .5 to 5 seconds. (Other time ranges are also available).

Model 3381E – This model operates like the 3381 series, but with remote output adjustment capability.

4480 Series:

The 4480 series is designed for use with single-pole hand sensing devices, such as optical hand sensing devices. This series is a direct replacement for the 4470 series.

Model 4480 – Can provide a Momentary output – the output remains energized only as long as both switches are activated, or a Maintained output – the output will remain energized until the Hold switch is opened.

Model 4480-T – Provides a Timed output – the output will remain energized for a total of .5 seconds, assuming the start switches remain closed. This output time is factory set at .5 seconds but may be internally adjusted from .2 to 1 second.

Model 4481 – This control has an adjustable timed output – the output will remain energized for a set period of time which is adjustable from .5 to 5 seconds. (Other time ranges are also available).

Model 4485 – This model offers the same features as the 4480 model, plus the ability to interface with programmable controllers that have DC inputs of the sinking or sourcing configuration.

6010:

Model 6010– The 6010 carries the CE mark, and is designed to meet the European standards for two-hand control devices (EN 574).

Start Bars:

Start Bars – A complete OSHA compliant two-hand start system. Includes two ergonomic start switches, an anti-tiedown control, and a metal enclosure.

Model TB-1 – A 32″ start bar for larger machines.

Model TB-2 – A 20″ start bar for smaller machines.

These ergonomic Optical Hand Sensors require no hand pressure to operate.  They are activated by sliding a finger through the sensing trough, which breaks an optic beam. This eliminates the hand, wrist, and arm stresses associated with the repeated use of mechanical push buttons.  These switches are available for sale individually or packaged in a kit with Nolatron’s 4480 series controls.

The Allen-Bradley Zero-Force Touch Buttons help to reduce the chances of repetitive motion injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome.  Their sensors detect an operator’s touch, so no pressure is required to activate the switch.  The buttons also use self-diagnostic circuitry to provide protection against accidental activation.   This circuitry detects faults and hazardous situations such as conductive film deposits, and shuts down the button when they occur. These switches are available for sale individually or packaged in a kit with Nolatron’s 3380 or 4480 series controls.
